oily dry skin

When i applied the cleasing gel (meant for oily skin) to my face last night, it burned so bad. After washing it off, i noticed that my skin was peeling. I thought oily skin is bad but dry skin is worse. It hurts so bad that i was afraid to even wash my face in the morning just now ):
